Driving sales by increasing frequency of customer purchases through email and sms.

Following on from the previous tutorial on the drive to increase sales, I said that there were three methods of driving sales in your type of business:

1) Increase the number of unique customers entering your business in a given time period.

This method will cost you money through the use of promotions and advertising. Good customer service will help, but it takes time for word of mouth to spread.

2) Increase the frequency.

If the same customers buy from you twice a month instead of once per month, you double your sales.
Again, this method will need advertising. This is the topic of todays tutorial.

3) Increase the amount of money that your customers spend when they walk into your business.

This tutorial will focus on increasing the frequency of customer purchases

Improving your GP% by modifying your sales mix through the use of incentives.

You are looking for ways to increase your gross profit, but cash flow is tight and you want to find the most economical way without outlaying large amounts of cash.

You really have three options:

1) Increase the number of unique customers entering your business in a given time period.

This method will cost you money through the use of promotions and advertising. Good customer service will help, but it takes time for word of mouth to spread.

2) Increase the frequency.

If the same customers buy from you twice a month instead of once per month, you double your sales.
Again, this method will need advertising. We will look at what Aura can do to help here in the next tutorial.

3) Increase the amount of money that your customers spend when they walk into your business.

This is the method that we will be looking at in today’s tutorial.

Start implementing proper stock controls and improve your bottom line!

I was surprised when I first heard that world-wide, the number of restaurant operators that actually control and manage stock properly was fewer than 50%. The fact is that if you own or operate a restaurant, no matter how well you think you're doing if you are not monitoring your stock, you're not managing it properly - and if you're not managing your stock properly then your bottom line is suffering.

Get MORE from your Point-of-Sale system!

2009 was a tough year for franchises.  Most aspects of franchising were affected by difficult times – franchise sales, difficulties with franchisee relations, tough supplier negotiations and reduced consumer sales. We saw several customers either closing down or their businesses changing hands.
