Aura 6.3.12 Beta Release Notes

This version introduces several changes to cater for international stores, particularly Automatic Charges and several new VAT settings for areas that have flexible VAT rates, as well as a number of under-the-hood improvements to the Report viewer. A few new reports have been added.

Beta Software Notice

Before releasing new versions of the Aura POS Suite, software packages are initially sent to selected stores for beta testing. These versions are mostly bug free, however changes to software must be tested thoroughly to ensure all problems are found and corrected as soon as possible.

Various stability issues have been resolved in this release.

The Report Viewer also supports custom reports now. allowing any custom report not included in the default reports set to be used seamlessly with current and future report features.

Important Note

Beta versions are not released to the general public, this changelog will only apply to specific stores who are supplied with the associated beta version of Aura.


The main focus for this release has been to iron out various usability and consistency issues in Aura, making the system generally more reliable and easy to use.
A new set of Health Reports have also been added, aimed at analysing and reporting on areas of Aura that may cause problems in the general running of a store.

Aura 6.3.9 has been a major overhaul of many key areas of the Aura POS Suite. A great number of issues relating to stock control, reporting, stability and security have been fixed for this release.

On-site Support Expands Into 4 New Provinces.

In a drive to improve our on-site support and service levels in provinces where we do not currently have offices, we recently held a 3rd Party Technicians Certification Program at our Midrand branch.

The following people are now certified to install and support Aura as well as supply Cosoft approved hardware locally.

When you run either the stock variance report or the gp report, one of the optional settings is 'Calculate Missing Stock Levels.' This short tutorial aims to explain what this setting does.

Debonairs Pizza Golf Day

Cosoft sponsored the 13th hole at the recent Debonairs Pizza Golf Day. All players were greeted with a smile by our two promotion girls and then immediately required to down a shot of Caramel Vodka. The 14th hole required players to mount a mechanical bull and hang on for dear life. The vodka had just enough time to settle nicely for their bull ride. Here are some photo's from the day.

How to remove a discount from Backoffice.

Morning all,

In order to remove a discount from backoffice there are a couple of steps to folow.

"Open Backoffice"

"Click on lists" as shown below and select Discount Codes.

Once you are in the discount screen please double "click" on the discount you want removed. In my case it is the "Get 3Rd Free"

Aura Network Diagram

This specification document shows the Aura network in blue. This specification must be followed regardless of whether you plan to use Nomad Credit Card processing at the site or not.

If you ever do install Nomad, the nomad network is also shown in red.
